High-Performance Superplasticizer Concrete Admixture
Standard
Ministry of Public Works Specification No: 04.613/1-A3
TS EN 934-2 Tables 11.1 and 11.2: Set retarder / high-range water reducer / superplasticizer concrete admixture
Description
Polydos® SR 770 is a new-generation, polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer admixture used in high-performance concrete production. It provides excellent flowability and passing ability, allowing the concrete to easily fill densely reinforced, narrow, and deep sections. It can self-compact without the need for internal or external vibration, while maintaining cohesion and preventing segregation and bleeding.
Areas of Use
- In ready-mixed concrete production that needs to be transported over longer distances in hot climates
- In concretes requiring high water reduction and extended workability
- In reinforced concrete structures with dense and narrow reinforcements where placement is challenging
- In the production of higher-quality and higher-strength concretes
- In concretes requiring dense and smooth surfaces
- In foundations, slabs, beams, columns, and wall concretes
- In bridge, viaduct, tunnel, airport, and dam concretes
- In concretes where impermeability is required
- To compensate for loss of workability caused by hot, windy, and humid weather conditions
- In the production of self-compacting concrete (SCC)
Features / Advantages
- Provides long-lasting slump retention
- Significantly improves early high strength development
- Substantially reduces the water content in the concrete mix
- Grants self-compacting properties to concrete
- Allows for high unit weight and strength
- Produces low-void, aesthetically pleasing, and less permeable concrete
- Controls and extends setting times
- Enables long-distance pumping of concrete
- Provides void-free and smooth surfaces
- Eliminates the need for vibration, reducing noise pollution
- Reduces carbonation rate and improves mechanical properties such as shrinkage and creep
- Improves impermeability through a low water/cement ratio
- Maintains workability in summer without the need for re-tempering
Dosage
- For flowable and self-compacting concretes, it is recommended to use between 0.5 – 2.0 kg per 100 kg of binder (cement – microsilica – fly ash).
- The dosage may vary depending on the properties of aggregates, concrete grade, water/cement ratio, water quality, and ambient temperature. Therefore, it is recommended to determine the appropriate dosage through preliminary laboratory trials.
- During consistency adjustment, the high water-reducing capability of the admixture should be considered, and the addition of excess water should be avoided.
