CHEMICAL CONCRETE ADDITIVE
Aydos Chemical Concrete Additive; They are organic and inorganic chemical substances added to concrete in very small amounts other than cement, aggregate and water.
Chemical concrete additives are less than 5% of the binder weight. They are designed to increase the performance of concrete by changing its fresh and/or hardened properties and/or to make concrete more economical.
Concrete additives used for purposes such as increasing the workability of fresh concrete, changing setting times, increasing the strength and durability of hardened concrete are used by adding to concrete mixing water or directly mixing into freshly prepared low-slump fresh concrete.
The use of chemical concrete additives is not a necessity for concrete production, on the contrary, it is a convenience. The quality of chemical concrete additives increases every passing day and their areas of use expand.
It is impossible to improve a bad concrete that is not produced in accordance with the rules by using a chemical concrete additive. Additives may not give positive results for every cement, every aggregate type and granulometry. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the amount of additive. Chemical concrete admixture usage rates may vary depending on aggregate properties, concrete class, water/cement ratio and ambient temperature. In this respect, the compatibility of the admixture with other materials at hand should be determined by making preliminary trial mixtures in the laboratory.
Additives always have secondary effects in addition to their primary functions. While one feature is being corrected, another feature may be impaired. In some cases, more than one admixture may be used. Their compatibility with each other and that they do not disrupt each other's effects should be proven by making preliminary trial mixtures.
