High-Performance Superplasticizer Concrete Admixture

Standard
Ministry of Public Works Specification No: 04.613/1-A3
TS EN 934-2 Tables 11.1 and 11.2: Set retarding / high-range water-reducing / superplasticizer concrete admixture

Description
Polydos® SR 777 is a new-generation, polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer admixture used in the production of high-performance concrete. It is capable of easily flowing into narrow and heavily reinforced sections, self-compacting without the need for internal or external vibration, and maintaining cohesion without causing segregation or bleeding. It exhibits excellent flowability and passing ability.

Fields of Application

  • Production of ready-mixed concrete requiring long-distance transport in hot climates

  • Concretes requiring high water reduction and extended workability

  • Reinforced concrete elements with dense and narrow reinforcement details that are difficult to place

  • Production of higher quality and high-strength concrete

  • Concretes requiring dense and smooth surfaces

  • Foundations, slabs, beams, columns, and wall concretes

  • Bridge, viaduct, tunnel, airport, and dam concretes

  • Concretes where impermeability is a requirement

  • To compensate for slump loss caused by hot, windy, and humid weather conditions

  • In the production of self-compacting concrete (SCC)

Features / Advantages

  • Ensures long-lasting workability retention

  • Provides significantly higher early strength development

  • Greatly reduces the mixing water content

  • Provides self-compacting properties to the concrete

  • Enables high unit weight and strength

  • Results in low-void, aesthetically smooth, and less permeable concrete

  • Controls and extends setting times

  • Enables pumping over long distances

  • Provides smooth and void-free surfaces

  • Eliminates the need for vibration, thus reducing noise pollution

  • Reduces carbonation rate and improves mechanical properties such as shrinkage and creep

  • Enhances water impermeability due to the low water/cement ratio

  • Maintains consistency over time during hot weather without the need for re-tempering

Dosage
For fluid and self-compacting concretes, it is recommended to use between 0.5 – 2.0 kg per 100 kg of binder (cement – microsilica – fly ash).
The admixture dosage may vary depending on aggregate properties, concrete grade, water/cement ratio, water quality, and ambient temperature. Therefore, it is advised to determine the exact dosage through preliminary laboratory trials.
During consistency adjustment, the admixture’s high water-reducing effect should be considered, and excess water should not be added to the mix.
