High-Performance Hyperplasticizer Concrete Admixture

Standard

Ministry of Public Works Specification No: 04.613/1-A3
TS EN 934-2 Table 3.1 and 3.2: High Range Water Reducer / Superplasticizer Concrete Admixture

Description

Polydos® TN 343 is a new generation hyperplasticizer concrete admixture based on polycarboxylate, used in the production of high-performance concrete with high early and final strength. Developed for the ready-mix concrete sector, it enables the production of self-compacting and self-consolidating concrete without segregation or bleeding, offering very high water reduction depending on the dosage, and extended workability time.

Areas of Use

  • In higher quality and high-strength concrete

  • In concrete requiring excellent flowability and slump retention

  • In reinforced concrete structures with dense and narrow reinforcement where placement is difficult

  • In concrete requiring high water reduction and long workability

  • In applications requiring early formwork removal or rapid loading

  • In precast and prefabricated concrete production

  • In prestressed concrete production

  • In architectural concrete, engineering, and decorative structures

  • In the production of self-compacting concrete (SCC)

Features / Advantages

  • Ensures durable, high-quality concrete production

  • Provides high early strength, especially in cold weather

  • Increases resistance and durability of concrete against freeze/thaw cycles

  • Improves impermeability due to low water/cement ratio

  • Grants self-compacting properties to concrete

  • Enables high unit weight and strength

  • Allows concrete to be pumped over long distances

  • Saves energy by reducing curing time and temperature in precast element production

  • Allows normal setting time without any retarding effect

  • Reduces carbonation rate, and improves mechanical properties such as shrinkage and creep

  • Results in smoother and aesthetically improved concrete surfaces

  • Eliminates segregation (no bleeding or separation)

  • Provides easy placement and faster strength development, resulting in labor savings and earlier formwork removal/rotation

Dosage

For flowable and self-compacting concretes, it is recommended to use 0.6 – 2.0 kg per 100 kg of binder (cement – microsilica – fly ash).
The dosage may vary depending on the properties of the aggregates, concrete class, water/cement ratio, water quality, and ambient temperature. Therefore, it is advised to determine the proper dosage through preliminary trial mixes in the laboratory.
During consistency adjustments, the high water-reducing effect of the admixture should be taken into account, and excessive water addition should be avoided.
