TS EN 934-2 Table 3.1 and 3.2: High-Range Water Reducing / Superplasticizer Concrete Admixture
Description
Polydos® TN 344 is a new generation hyperplasticizer concrete admixture based on polycarboxylate, designed for the production of high-performance concrete with early and final high strength. Developed specifically for the ready-mix concrete industry, it enables the production of self-compacting and self-consolidating concrete without issues such as segregation or bleeding. It provides very high water reduction depending on dosage and offers extended workability time.
Areas of Application
In higher quality and high-strength concretes
In concrete requiring excellent flowability and slump retention
In reinforced concrete structures with dense, closely spaced rebar where placement is difficult
In concrete requiring high water reduction and long workability
In applications requiring early formwork removal or rapid loading
In precast and prefabricated concrete production
In prestressed concrete manufacturing
In architectural, engineering, and artistic concrete works
In the production of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC)
Features / Advantages
Enables the production of durable, high-quality concrete
Provides high early strength in a short time, especially in cold weather
Improves resistance to freeze/thaw cycles
Enhances impermeability thanks to low water/cement ratio
Grants self-compacting properties to the concrete
Allows high unit weight and strength to be achieved
Ensures long-distance pumpability
Saves energy by reducing curing time and temperature in precast production
Allows normal setting without retarding effect
Reduces carbonation rate and improves mechanical properties such as shrinkage and creep
Provides smoother and aesthetically improved concrete surfaces
Eliminates the risk of segregation
Facilitates easier placement and faster strength development, resulting in labor savings and earlier formwork removal or turnover
Dosage
For flowable and self-compacting concretes, it is recommended to use 0.4 – 2.0 kg per 100 kg of binder (cement – microsilica – fly ash).
The admixture dosage may vary depending on aggregate properties, concrete class, water/cement ratio, water quality, and ambient temperature. Therefore, it is advised to determine the optimum dosage through preliminary trial mixes in the laboratory.
When adjusting the consistency, the high water-reducing capacity of the admixture should be considered, and excess water should be avoided.
