High-Performance Hyperplasticizer Concrete Admixture

Standard

Ministry of Public Works Specification No: 04.613/1-A3
TS EN 934-2 Tables 3.1 and 3.2: High-Range Water Reducing / Superplasticizer Concrete Admixture

Description

Polydos® TN 345 is a new generation hyperplasticizer concrete admixture based on polycarboxylate, used in the production of high-performance concrete with both early and final high strength. Developed for the ready-mix concrete industry, it enables the production of self-compacting and self-consolidating concrete without causing segregation or bleeding, offering very high water reduction depending on dosage and extended workability.

Areas of Use

  • In high-quality and high-strength concretes

  • In concretes requiring excellent flowability and slump retention

  • In densely reinforced structural elements where placement is challenging

  • In concretes demanding high water reduction and long workability time

  • In projects requiring early formwork removal or quick loading

  • In precast and prefabricated concrete production

  • In prestressed concrete manufacturing

  • In architectural, engineering, and artistic concrete structures

  • In the production of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC)

Features / Advantages

  • Produces durable, high-quality concrete

  • Ensures high early strength even in cold weather conditions

  • Increases concrete resistance to freeze-thaw cycles

  • Enhances impermeability due to low water/cement ratio

  • Imparts self-compacting capability to the concrete

  • Enables high unit weight and strength

  • Facilitates long-distance pumping of concrete

  • Reduces curing time and temperature in precast element production, saving energy

  • Allows normal setting time without any retarding effect

  • Slows the carbonation rate and improves mechanical properties like shrinkage and creep

  • Provides smoother and more aesthetically pleasing concrete surfaces

  • Eliminates the risk of segregation

  • Enables easier placement and faster strength gain, saving labor and allowing earlier formwork removal or turnover

Dosage

For flowable and self-compacting concretes, it is recommended to use 0.4 – 2.0 kg per 100 kg of binder (cement – microsilica – fly ash).
The dosage of the admixture may vary depending on aggregate properties, concrete class, water/cement ratio, water quality, and ambient temperature. Therefore, it is advised to determine the appropriate dosage through preliminary laboratory trial mixes.
When adjusting the consistency, the high water-reducing capacity of the admixture should be considered, and excessive water addition to the mix should be avoided.
