High-Performance Hyperplasticizer Concrete Admixture
Standard
Ministry of Public Works Specification No: 04.613/1-A3
TS EN 934-2 Tables 3.1 and 3.2: High Range Water-Reducing / Superplasticizer Concrete Admixture
Description
Polydos® TS 70-A is a new-generation superplasticizer and setting accelerator concrete admixture, based on modified polycarboxylate, that provides high water reduction, early and final high strength, enhanced fluidity, and excellent slump retention.
Areas of Use
In all high-quality concrete where high strength and low water/cement ratio are required
In concrete requiring excellent flowability and slump retention
In applications where early formwork removal or fast loading is necessary
In the production of any type of light or normal-weight concrete with or without dense reinforcement where placement is difficult
In concrete where dense and smooth surface finish is desired
In the production of self-compacting concrete (SCC)
Features / Advantages
Chemical Content: Polycarboxylate-based
Appearance-Colour: Brown liquid
Density: 1.05 ± 0.02 kg/l (ISO 758)
pH Value: 4.5 ± 1 (TS 6365 EN 1262)
Chloride Content (Cl): < 0.1% (TS EN 480-10)
Alkali Content: < 4% (TS EN 480-12)
Freezing Point: -4 ºC
Corrosion Behavior: Contains only components listed in TS EN 934-1 Annex A.1
Dangerous Substances: Fully compliant with Annex ZA
Manufacturing Conditions: Produced at +20°C and 50% relative humidity
Provides significant improvement in both early and final concrete strength
Greatly reduces the amount of mixing water required
Ensures long-term slump retention
Imparts self-compacting properties to concrete
Enables void-free and smooth surface finish
Enhances impermeability of concrete due to low water/cement ratio
Saves energy by reducing curing time and temperature in precast element production
Increases concrete resistance to freeze-thaw cycles and heat
Improves mechanical properties such as shrinkage and creep
Enables easy placement and faster strength gain, leading to labor savings and earlier formwork removal or turnover
Facilitates pumping of concrete
Dosage
For flowable and self-compacting concretes, it is recommended to use 0.5 – 2.0 kg per 100 kg of binder (cement – microsilica – fly ash).
The dosage may vary depending on aggregate properties, concrete class, water/cement ratio, water quality, and ambient temperature. Therefore, it is recommended to determine the dosage through preliminary trial mixes in the laboratory.
During consistency adjustment, the high water-reducing capacity of the admixture should be considered, and excessive water addition should be avoided.
